Myndin til að sjá

Dallas Buyers Club er myndin til að sjá. McConaughey er frábær í myndinni og nær að löðra mann í samkennd fyrir manni sem á yfirborðinu hefur kannski ekki marga aðdáunarverða eiginleika.

Dallas Buyers Club is no doubt the film to see these days. What a great movie! The movie is based on a true story of a Texas man diagnosed with the HIV virus and given a month to live by physicians. The man, Ron Woodroof, played by an unrecognizable and necessarily emaciated Matthew McConaughey is shown at the beginning of the film to be a swindler and a reckless pleasure-seeker, seeking the comfort of booze, prostitutes and drugs.

McConaughey gives an outstanding performance, able to bring humanity and depth to a character that at first doesn't seem to have many redeeming qualities. The triumph of his performance is making this apparently selfish and irresponsible character sympathetic to the audience. It is a truly knock-out performance and surely he will be on the list of nominations for best actor in the upcoming Oscars. I hope he gets it! Also check out a great performance by Jared Leto in the movie.

9/10
