Blue is the Warmest Color

I have absolutely no idea why this movie is so highly regarded, receiving the main award at the Cannes film festival this year. After an hour of watching it I couldn't really be bothered anymore and discovered to my astonishment that the film's run time almost stretches to three hours. I just didn't see anything charming about it. A romantic film really needs charm or interesting characters to take flight but this flick was stuck in security even after an hour. Is it because it's a French movie about lesbians that contains explicit sex scenes that makes this "provocative"? The muppets are more provocative than this pretentious pile of dirty laundry. Avoid like the plague.
